Breaking News: Storms roll across Franklin County

FRANKLIN COUNTY -- A hail-producing thunderstorm rocked parts of Franklin County Wednesday night, shattering windows, bombarding homes and smashing windshields.
Meteorologists said conditions exist that could bring Round 2, and maybe, Round 3, Thursday and Friday evening.
"We still have a front sitting across us," meteorologist Mike Moneypenny said Thursday afternoon, noting temperatures in the 50s in Elizabeth City and in the mid 80s in the Charlotte and Fayetteville area.

DORA "PEGGY" S. VAUGHAN

LOUISBURG--Dora "Peggy" Shearin Vaughan, 89, died Thursday, April 9, 2015 at Franklin Oaks Nursing Center. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 11, at 11 a.m. at Lancaster Funeral and Cremation Services Chapel with Pastor Brian Merritt officiating. Burial will follow in Lancaster Memorial Park.
