Breaking News: Novant wants to sell hospital

Franklin Medical Center, better known locally as Franklin Regional Medical Center, is for sale.
The hospital's owner, Novant Health, Inc., revealed Thursday morning that it plans to "issue a request for proposal" for the hospital -- meaning the pared-down facility has been placed on the open market.
Novant said that it is "seeking a qualified buyer for Franklin Medical Center to assume operations of the hospital and provide continued access to quality health care for area residents."

HURLEY BRANTLEY SR.

WAKE FOREST - Hurley Brantley Sr., 83, died Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at Hillside Nursing Center. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, May 9, in the chapel of Bright Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Brantley family cemetery, Middlesex.

LOUISBURG - Vivian "Bea" Floyd Rogers, 103, died Wednesday May 6, 2015 at Louisburg Nursing Center. Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, May 8, at Bunn Town Cemetery, with the Rev. Dr. William H. Haley officiating.
