Family, friends remember abuse victim

FRANKLINTON -- Tracy Williams' family and friends plan to continue fighting for life with a rally on the Wake County Courthouse steps next week.
That announcement was made Thursday night as hundreds gathered at Franklinton Middle School for a candlelight vigil, remembering Williams' life and making a commitment to not let her death be in vain.

WOMAN SHOT

A case that began as in intruder shooting investigation, authorities said, appears to have been a self-inflicted gunshot matter. Franklin County authorities responded to a home on Leghorn Drive in the Pilot area about 4:30 p.m. Wednesday to find Jennifer Bailey suffering from a wound to her arm. At the time, authorities were told that a white man had entered the woman's house through a rear door and shot her.

Four-wheeler crash kills man

LOUISBURG -- A Franklin County man who was last seen Wednesday afternoon was found dead Thursday morning.
Authorities said Caleb Allen, 52, was last seen alive on Wednesday at about 2:30 p.m. when he went out for a ride on a four-wheeler in the Sandy Creek community he lived in.
