LOUISBURG - Benjamin Franklin "Ben" McIntyre, 78, died Friday, Aug. 7, 2015 at WakeMed. A celebration of his life was held Monday evening, Aug. 10, in the chapel of Bright Funeral Home with the Rev. Gary McNair officiating.
LOUISBURG - Funeral services for Brenda Lee White, 52, who died Monday, Aug. 10, 2015, will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 16, at Hickory Grove Baptist Church in Castalia, with the Rev. Bobby Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
YOUNGSVILLE --Donald Bowman "Don" Polley, 82, of Youngsville died Tuesday evening, Aug. 4, 2015 at his home. A memorial service celebrating his life was held Saturday afternoon, Aug. 8, in the chapel of Bright Funeral Home, with the Rev. Gary McNair officiating.
LOUISBURG - Helen Perry Carter, 75, died Friday, Aug. 7, 2015. Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, Aug. 14, at New Bethel Baptist Church, Rolesville. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. A visitation will be held from 2-5 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 13, at William Toney's Funeral Home, Zebulon.
OXFORD - James E. Hawkins Sr., 82, died Monday, Aug. 10, 2015 at Veteran's Hospital in Durham. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 14, at Concord Baptist Church by the Rev. Samuel Blalock. Burial will follow in the Hawkins family cemetery. A viewing will be held Thursday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Wright Funeral Home in Oxford, and one hour prior to the services at Concord Baptist Church.
LOUISBURG - Jean D. Cooley, 81, died Saturday, Aug. 8, 2015. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 14, at Pilot Missionary Baptist Church in Pilot. Interment will follow in the Thomas family cemetery.
LOUISBURG - Joyce Ann Strother Peoples, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, went home to be with her Lord on August 9, 2015, surrounded by her family. She was born in Louisburg on January 11, 1932, a daughter of the late Minnie Vick Conyers Strother and Harvey Ray Strother, Sr. She was also preceded in death by her former husband, V.A. Peoples, Sr., a sister, Betty Strother Fuller, and a brother, Harvey Ray Strother, Jr.; son-in-law, James Bottoms.
LOUISBURG - Robert Lee Dickerson, 76, died Thursday afternoon, Aug. 6, 2015. A funeral service was held Monday, Aug. 10, at Crossroads Pentecostal Holiness Church. Burial followed in the Pernell family cemetery.
