BRENDA HOBGOOD

LOUISBURG - Funeral services for Brenda Hobgood, 61, who died Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2015, will be held Friday, Dec. 11, at 11 a.m. at Perry's Missionary Baptist Church in Louisburg, with the Rev. Randolph Alston officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

YOUNGSVILLE-Funeral services for Vallie Perry McCowan, 98, who died Thursday, Dec. 3, 2015, will be held Sunday, Dec. 6, at 2 p.m. at Union Grove Baptist Church in Youngsville, with the Rev. Samuel Tunstall officiating. Burial will follow in the Perry's Church cemetery.

Bunn victorious in overtime against Clinton

BUNN -- Curious -- and wildly euphoric -- how the events of a split second can determine the path of a game, a career and nearly 30 years of dedication to a common cause.
David Howle arrived in Bunn in the 1980's with a single mission -- to build the school's football program into one of the state's best.
Howle succeeded on many aspects of that quest, with the only exception being the fact that the Wildcats have never played in a state championship game.
