IRIS F. SOUTHERLAND
August 10, 1925 - July 13, 2017

LOUISBURG - Iris Frazier Southerland, 91, of Louisburg, affectionately known to many as "Little Mama" or "Ms. Ike," went peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior on July 13, 2017. Ms. Ike epitomized a true southern lady who was full of grace and humility. She was a model wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. While she will always be remembered for her kind, gentle, nurturing heart and her outstanding Sunday lunches, her most outstanding attributes were her strong Christian faith and her dedication to her Lord. Ms. Ike was well known for her Biblical knowledge and not only was readily able to quote scripture, she lived her life daily by following God's word.

FRANKLINTON--Jerry N. Stanton, 69, died Monday, July 17, 2017 at his home. A funeral service honoring his life will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 19, in the chapel of Bright Funeral Home, with the Rev. Steve Kirk officiating.
