JAMES T. “J.T.” MULLEN
RALEIGH - James Timothy “J.T.” Mullen, 87, died Friday morning, March 20, 2009 at Wake Med. Funeral services were Monday, March 23, at New Hope Baptist Church, Raleigh, with Dr. Gerald Goodwin and Dr. Jack Coffey officiating. Burial followed in Raleigh Memorial Park.

He was born in Franklin County to Linwood David Mullen and Violet Brewer Mullen. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was awarded the Purple Heart. He retired after 36 years of service as an accountant with FCX, Inc.

Surviving: wife, Retha Hockaday Mullen; daughters, Brenda M. Lynch (Frank) of Knightdale, Susan M. Blackman (Mark) of Clayton; and one granddaughter.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice or to New Hope Baptist Church, 4301 Louisburg Road, Raleigh, NC 27604.
