STACY WADE HARRIS
YOUNGSVILLE - Stacy Wade Harris, 74, died Tuesday, March 24, 2009 at his residence. Funeral services were Friday, March 27, at South Main Baptist Chapel of Wake Forest, with the Rev. Gary Vassar and the Rev. Harry Upchurch officiating. Burial followed in Oak Grove Baptist Church cemetery in Youngsville.

He was born in Franklin County, the son of Coynee Fletcher Loyd Harris and Norman Edward Harris Sr.; he was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Merritt Harris; four brothers, Norman, Mack, Joe and Clyde; one sister, Ruby McGarrity.

He was a member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans, serving in many units, and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. For many years he was owner and operator of a mechanic and body shop, and for 25 years he worked at Weavex where he was shift leader in the maintenance department.

Surviving: daughter, Lorraine Putnam (Steve) of Youngsville; sons, Stacy W. Harris, II (Lisa) of Franklinton, Charles Warner Harris (Nikki) of Louisburg, Dana Joe Harris (Annette) of Youngsville; and nine grandchildren.

Flowers are welcome or memorial contributions may be made to South Main Baptist Chapel, 601 S. Main St., Wake Forest, NC 27587.
