BUNN – Carrie Kelley Morris, 97, of Bunn, passed away Sunday afternoon at Louisburg Nursing Center.
Ms. Morris was a daughter of the late Elizabeth Haley and Matthew Kelley. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Janice Dickerson. Ms. Morris was affectionately known by her children and grandchildren as “Mu.” She was a member of Bunn Baptist Church.
A celebration of life was held at 3 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Strickland Funeral Home with the Rev. Michael Spain officiating. Burial followed in the Bunn Cemetery. The family received friends one hour prior to the service.
Ms. Morris is survived by her daughters and sons- in-law, Margie and John Winstead, Ann and Jim Ward, all of Bunn; sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Kay Morris of Charlotte, Macon and Janet Morris of Zebulon, Jim and Sara Jane Morris of Wake Forest, Ronnie Morris of Bunn; son in-law, Doug Dickerson of Bunn; grandchildren, Johnny Winstead, Larry Winstead and wife Diane, Dennis Winstead, Greg Ward and wife Tammy, Jon Morris and wife Michelle, Kristina Vitolo and husband Emilo, Lisa Nelson and husband Mike, Amy Ferrell and husband Tim, Kelly Roberts and husband Sammy, Natalie Burgin and husband Tony, Scott Dickerson and wife Rosanne, Karen Turner and husband Randy, Marci Merritt and husband Tad, Thomas Morris; 19 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of contributions, the family requests that Mu’s life be honored by spending time and enjoying family—Mu’s greatest joy in life.
