CASTALIA - Jack Davis, 84, died Wednesday morning, June 17, 2009 at Britthaven of Louisburg. Funeral services were Friday, June 19, at White Level Baptist Church, with the Rev. Henry Stamper officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

He was the son of the late James and Ellen Jane Morgan Davis and was also preceded in death by his daughter, Jacqueline Scholl. He was a World War II Army veteran.

Surviving: his wife, Gloria Davis; daughters, Diane Walker, Sandra McCarroll, Joyce Hunzer and Dorothy Hayes; stepdaughter, Nadine Lewis; stepsons, Robert VanFleet and James VanFleet; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to White Level Baptist Church, Building Fund, 2400 White Level Road, Louisburg, NC 27549

Arrangements handled by Strickland Funeral Home, Louisburg.
