HELEN ELOISE GARRIS TAYLOR
April 14, 1931 – June 21, 2009
LOUISBURG – Eloise Garris Taylor, 78, of Louisburg, passed away at her home on Sunday morning after a long battle with cancer.

She was the third of nine children of the late Floyd and Eva Parrish Garris and was born in Speights Bridge, Greene County, NC. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Taylor, Jr..

Funeral service was 11 a.m. Tuesday at Cedar Rock First Baptist Church. The family received friends after the service at the home, 2630 Ronald Tharrington Road. A graveside service will be 11 a.m Wednesday in the Stantonsburg Town Cemetery.

Eloise is survived by her children, daughters and sons-in-law, Helen T. and and Barry Shearin, Diane T. and Steve Torrent, all of Louisburg; sons and daughters-in-law, Paul L. Taylor, George T. and Wendy Taylor, all of Louisburg, Robert F. and Margaret Taylor of Pine Tops; grandchildren, Melanie Shearin, Nicole Shearin, Christopher Taylor, Paul Taylor and Chase Taylor; great-grandchildren, Samantha Gast, Matthew Gast and Aubrey Taylor; sisters and brother- in-law, Katherine Carter, Joyce and Durwood Rowe; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bill and Margaret Garris, Jimmy and Katherine Garris, Bobby Garris, Glenn Garris, Johnny and Linda Garris.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cedar Rock First Baptist Church, 4879 NC Hwy. 56 E., Castalia, NC 27816.

Arrangements are by Strickland Funeral Home, Louisburg.
