DOROTHY J. HARRIS
RALEIGH - Dorothy Elizabeth Jones Harris, 82, died Sunday, Sept. 20, 2009. A service honoring her life will be conducted at 11 a.m. today (Saturday, Sept. 23) at Bryan Lee Funeral Home, 831 Wake Forest Road, Raleigh, with the Rev. George Shore officiating. Inerment will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park.

She was born in Franklin County, the eldest child of Walter Wesley Jones and Irene Catlette. Her early life was spent in Franklin County, where she attended Mills High School in Louisburg and Gold Sand High School.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Vernon Ray Jones and Kenneth Wesley Jones.

Surviving: husband, Wilton F. Harris of the home; son, Edgar Arnett (Mary Nell) Harris of Winston-Salem; two granddaughters; and three great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Hospice of Wake County, 1300 St. Mary’s St., 4th Floor, Raleigh, NC 27605, or Crabtree Valley Baptist Church, P. O. Box 30954, Raleigh, NC 27622.
