KNIGHTDALE —Charles Larry “Charlie” Hood, 64, died Thursday, Oct. 1, 2009 at Wake Med. Graveside services with military honors were conducted Monday, Oct. 5, at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens, Zebulon, with Pastor John Hedgepeth officiating.

He was born in Wake County to the late Morris Dale Hood Sr. and Bertha Adcock Hood. He served his country in the U. S. Army and retired after 30 years of service with the U.S. Postal Service.

Surviving: wife, Cindy Costello Hood; daughters, Tracie H. (Robert) Hutchens of Cary, Treva H. (Stephen) Lamm of Louisburg; son, Charles Larry Jr. (Sandra) Hood of Apex; sisters, Mary Alice Wynn of Raleigh and Louise Knight of Los Angeles, Calif.; a brother, John Royce (Faye) Hood of Greensboro; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation of North Carolina, 5950 Fairview Road, Suite 708, Charlotte, NC 28210.
