MARIE “SIS” ALSTON
LOUISBURG - Funeral services for Marie “Sis” Alston, 76, who died Friday, Oct. 16, 2009, will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 22, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, with the Rev. Linda Tayborn officiating. Burial will follow in the Perry’s Chapel Church cemetery, Centerville.

Surviving: husband, Johnnie Floyd Alston of the home; daughters, Mattie Alston-Buckmon of District Heights, Md., Dianne Glover and Michelle Alston, both of Washington, D.C.; stepson, Charles E. Alston of Durham; sisters, Betty Ruth Dale of Rocky Mount, Lillian Silver and Shirley Richardson, both of Louisburg; brothers, Vermus Coley Sr. and Duray “Darryl” Coley, both of Louisburg, and Louis “Junior” Coley of Spring Hope; nine grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Open visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. today (Wednesday, Oct. 21) at Richardson Funeral
