Cora Thomas Hunt Harris
KITTRELL - Cora Thomas Hunt Harris was born June 30, 1920, to James Hunt and Maggie Holden Hunt.  She went home to the Lord on December 11, 2009.  Cora was a devout Christian.  She joined Rowland Chapel Christian Church in Henderson at an early age and remained a member throughout her life.  She attended school in Franklin County and graduated from high school there.  In 1948, Cora married Walter Harris, also of Franklin County, who was serving in the United States Army Air Corps and who later served in the United States Army.  The couple had two children, Cora Lee Harris and then Ira Harris.  After her husband’s death in 1954, Cora raised her children with the help of her parents and managed the family farm.  She moved to the Louisburg Nursing Center, close to her home and family, in 2008.  Cora is survived by her daughter, by her son and his wife, Audrey; and by a host of loving relatives and friends.  Her funeral service will be held today (Wednesday, Dec. 16) at 1 p.m. at Richardson Funeral Home in Louisburg.  Burial will follow in the Harris Family Cemetery at 2500 Dyking Road in Kittrell.  The family received friends on Tuesday and will do so again following the service.
