ZEBULON - James Henderson “Doc” Damron, 85, died Thursday, December 24, 2009 at Wake Medical Center.
Damron was born in Huntington, W.Va. where he lived until his retirement after 33 years of dedicated service with the Huntington Fire Department, serving as Lieutenant.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Goldie and Lyle Damron; sister, Charlene Gowan; and granddaughter.
Surviving: wife, Catherine Miller Damron; daughters, Karen Barrett (Mark) of Zebulon, and Patricia Evans (Mark) of San Antonio, Texas; 2 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren.
Flowers are welcomed or donations may be made in memory of James Damron to Zebulon Baptist Church for the Capital Building Fund, PO Box 366, Zebulon, NC 27597.
Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, December 31, at Zebulon Baptist Church. Burial followed in Gethsemane Memorial Gardens, Zebulon.
