SUSAN D. CHAPMAN
ZEBULON - Susan Dunham Chapman, 91, died Thursday, Aug. 31, 2006 at Guardian Care. A graveside service will take place at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 5, at the National Cemetery, 501 Rock Quarry Road, Raleigh, with the Rev. Carlyle Hall officiating.

Chapman was born in Bladen County to the late Samuel Emmett Dunham and Kate Melvin Dunham. She worked as a clerk with the NC Department of Revenue.

Surviving: sister-in-law, Jacqueline Dunham of Mt. Carmel, Pa.; four nieces; and four nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Samuel Chapman; sisters, Eleanor D. Hill and Kathleen D. Gordon; brothers, Luke Dunham, Elliott Dunham, and James Murray Dunham; and one nephew.

Family and friends will gather at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 5, at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service and Crematory, Knightdale, in order to travel to Raleigh National Cemetery for the 11 a.m. graveside service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P. O. Box 41912, Raleigh, NC 27629-1912.
