SIDNEY FRANKLIN FAULKNER, JR.
FRANKLIN, VA — Sidney Franklin Faulkner, Jr., 78, supported by his loving family and friends, departed this life peacefully June 7, 2010 at Southampton Memorial Hospital.  Born in Franklin County, NC to the late Lelia Hale and Sidney Franklin Faulkner, he was a former resident of Henderson, NC, and was retired as an auditor for the retail clothing store industry.  He was a member and former deacon of Mountain Grove Baptist Church in Alert. A memorial service will be held Thursday at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of Lancaster Funeral and Cremation Services, with the Rev. Bill Wallace officiating.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Carolyn Burnette Lane Faulkner; stepsons, Benjamin “Tony” Lane and wife, April, and Robert “Bob” Lane and wife, Pat, and two step-grandchildren, Katie Lane and Ben Lane, all of Franklin, VA; sister, Lavenia Robertson of Stratford, CT; many nieces and nephews, including a special nephew, Cal Davis of Oxford, NC.  He was preceded in death by his first wife, Faylene Faulkner; two brothers, David Lee Faulkner and Charlie Faulkner; and one sister, Pat Faulkner.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service at Lancaster Funeral and Cremation Services, 804 N. Bickett Boulevard, Louisburg.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Mountain Grove Baptist Church, c/o Susan Hale, 939 Alert Road, Warrenton, NC  27589.
