BETTY G. LAYTON
RALEIGH - Betty G. Layton, 84, died Monday, June 28, 2010. A service to celebrate her life was held Thursday, July 1, at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church. Interment followed at Raleigh Memorial Park.

She was born to the late Claude and Lola Goodman in Raleigh, and lived all her life in Wake County.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Leon; brothers, Claude Goodman Jr. and Russell Goodman; sister, Pat Kelly; and one granddaughter.

Surviving: daughters, Lynda Buchanan (Eddie) of Wilmington, Pam Richardson (Vaden) of Wake Forest, Debbie Clifton (Doug) of Youngsville; son, Michael Layton of Raleigh; sister, Mildred Sanders; brother, Jim Goodman; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Flowers accepted or donations in her memory can be made to Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church or to your favorite charity.

Arrangements handled  by Mitchell Funeral Home, Raleigh.
