LOUISBURG – Lucille Wood Watkins, 77, died Friday morning, Aug. 13, 2010, at her home.  Funeral service will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 15, at Louisburg Baptist Church, with Dr. Reggie Rushing officiating.  Burial will follow at Lancaster Memorial Park.

She was a retired secretary of the family produce business.  Her husband, Charles C. Watkins, and sisters Ruby Powell and Annie Tivipaugh, preceded her in death.

Surviving: son Keith C. (Beth) Watkins of Williamston, S.C.; daughter, Joy L. Watkins of Louisburg; brother, Darrell Wood of Louisburg; sisters, Frances Cooke of Youngsville, Rose Shearin of Cary, Dorothy Hale of Castalia, Louise Lassiter of Gainesville, Fla., Jean McCord of Zebulon, Patricia Patton, Louisburg; and three grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Louisburg Baptist Church, Philathea Sunday School Class, P.O. Box 730, Louisburg, NC 27549.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday at Strickland Funeral Home, Louisburg.
