FRANKLINTON—Tommy R. Oakley, 48, died Sunday, Aug. 15, 2010 at Wake Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today (Wednesday, Aug. 18) in the chapel of Bright Funeral Home, with the Rev. Tom Ravan officiating. Burial will follow in Soapstone United Methodist Church cemetery.
He was born in Wake County, the son of Mary Louise Poole Oakley and the late Jake Oakley. He was an employee of the Wake County School system for 25 years.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Wayne Oakley and Robert Lee Oakley.
Surviving: his mother, Mary Louise Oakley of Franklinton; brothers, Earl Oakley of Franklinton, Arthur Oakley (Debbie) of Wake Forest; two nieces; several aunts, uncles and cousins.
