ELLA RUTH W. NELMS
CENTERVILLE - Mrs. Ella Ruth Wood Nelms, 86, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother of Centerville, NC, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 17, 2010. 

Mrs. Nelms was the wife of the late Clemon Edwin Nelms.  She is survived by her sons, Larry Nelms, Henry Nelms (Margaret), all of Centerville, NC, Julian Nelms (Gwynne) of Fremont, NC; her daughter, Andree Nelms Foster (Rex) of Centerville, NC; her grandchildren, Allen Nelms (Kelly), Edwin Foster (Michelle), Adam Nelms (Pamela), L.C. Nelms (Lois), Alison Foster Kennedy (Jason), Boyd Nelms, Ashley Nelms Smith (Adam) and Lee Nelms; her great-grandchildren, Madison and Emma Nelms, Bailey and Bryant Nelms, Mary Elizabeth and Ava Foster and Colby Kennedy.  She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and a host of friends. 

Mrs. Nelms was preceded in death by her sisters, Leona, Louise, Julia Mae and Madgalene; her parents, John Henry and Ella Wood; and special cousin, Lurlyne Moore.

Mrs. Nelms worked for many years at Louisburg Sportswear; however, she was best known as a wonderful homemaker, a fantastic cook and maker of beautiful dolls.  She was also a devoted member of Red Bud Baptist Church.

The family will celebrate her life with friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 18th, at Lancaster Funeral and Cremation Services, 804 N. Bickett Boulevard, Louisburg.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 19th, at Red Bud Baptist Church, 832 NC Hwy 58, Castalia, NC.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
