HELEN S. CARTER
FRANKLINTON—Helen Snead Carter, 83, died Saturday, Aug, 21, 2010 at Franklin Regional Medical Center. A visitation combined with a memorial service will be held 7-8:30 p.m. Thursday evening, Aug. 26, at the home of Mrs. Carter, 4094 Oak Circle, Franklinton.

She was born in Mecklenburg County, Va. She was the daughter of the late Willie Frank and Estelle Snead.

Surviving: sisters, Nora Saunders, Bessie Strange and Rose Lee Duckworth, all of Virginia; brothers, Thomas Snead and Gene Snead, both of Virginia; children, Joyce Jackson of Youngsville, William “Bill” Toone of Zebulon, Carrol Dellinger of Franklinton, Linda Marshall (Linwood) of Wake Forest, Tony Carter (Jeannie) of Franklinton, Tim Carter (Melissa) of Franklinton, Becky Light  (Buddy) of Wake Forest and Neal Carter (Sheila) of Franklinton; 17 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Earl Carter; son, Donnie Yancey Toone of Kittrell; one grandson; and infant son, Jackie Earl Carter.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Bright Funeral Home, P.O. Box 646, Wake Forest, NC 27588.
