EDITH W. “TABBIE” ROSS
FRANKLINTON —Edith Wall “Tabbie” Ross, 84, died Monday, Sept. 27, 2010. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. today (Wednesday, Sept. 29) in the chapel of Hall Wynne Funeral Home, Franklinton, with the Rev. Clyde Waiden officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery.

She was a native of Wake County and the daughter of the late Jesse James Wall and Margaret Beddingfield Wall. She was a member of Union View Baptist Church and worked in textiles.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Albert Ross Sr.; a brother, Bernice Wall; and a sister, Ruth Hayes.

Surviving: daughters, Rachel Layton of Franklinton, Rose Engelhardt (Jeff) of Franklinton, Barbara Phillips of Garland, Tex., and Ann O’Neal (Mickey) of Youngsville; son, James Albert “Buddy” Ross Jr. (Elaine) of Franklinton; brother, Ray Wall of Wake Forest; sisters, Janice Phelps and Wyvette Hayes, both of Franklinton; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
