GERTRUDE A. WRENN
HENDERSON-Gertrude Abbott Wrenn, age 93, a resident of 816 Bearpond Road, died Sunday May 22, 2011 at Carolinas Medical Center Hospital in Charlotte. A native of Vance County, she was the daughter of the late William Ernest and Clara Faulkner Abbott, and was the widow of Wilson Lee Wrenn.  She was a devoted and loving wife for 57 years, a loving and selfless mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  She was a genuine and humble servant of God.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 26, 2011, at 11:00 am at Gillburg United Methodist Church conducted by the Reverend Ray Pearce and the Reverend Pam Gilliam. Burial will follow in Sunset Gardens. 

Surviving are a daughter, Patricia Senical and son-in-law, Michael Senical of Charlotte; two sisters, Annie Dickerson and Rebecca Jennings of Henderson; grandchildren, Alecia Conlon and husband Tim, and Wendy Kiser and husband, Glenn; and her greatgrandchildren, Caneel Conlon, Rex Conlon, and Zoe Kiser.  She was preceded in death by a daughter, Carol Wrenn Rowe; and two brothers, Fenner Abbott and Floyd Abbott.

Serving as active pall bearers were Glenn Kiser, Tim Conlon, Wilton Faulkner, Bobby Faulkner, C. L. Wrenn and Ronnie Wrenn.

All guests are invited to join the family for lunch and fellowship at 1:00 pm Thursday, following the burial, at Gillburg United Methodist Church.

Flowers were accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Gillburg United Methodist Church, c/o Jean R. Pernell, 2744 Rock Mill Road, Henderson, N. C.  27537.

Arrangements are by J. M. White Funeral Home.
