THERESA D. JOYNER
January 24, 1925 – July 5, 2011
YOUNGSVILLE - Theresa DePaula-Joyner, 86, of Youngsville, died Tuesday afternoon at her home.

Theresa was born in Charleston, SC., and was one of four beloved children of the late Agnes Depaula-Shorter and Albert Shorter.  Theresa was a devoted mother and wife. She was Catholic by faith and graduated from Bishop of England School of Charleston, SC.  Theresa was preceded in death by her husband, James H Joyner, and her three brothers, Francis Shorter, Joseph Shorter, and Charles Shorter, all of Charleston, SC.

A funeral service will be 12 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Strickland Funeral Home. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service.

Theresa is survived by her only son, James Michael Joyner; two stepchildren, Jackie Joyner of Holly Springs and Ann McLamb of Raleigh.  Theresa has several step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren, also several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to give special thanks to Sister Betty Bullen  and John Lawrence, Father John Raharjo, Amedisys Hospice Services of Franklinton.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Amedisys Hospice, 3320 US 1 Hwy. Suite B, Franklinton NC 27525 or Our Lady of the Rosary Roman Catholic Church, 460 Fox Park Rd., Louisburg NC 27549.
