LOUISBURG - Malinda Blanton, 41, died Thursday, Aug. 21, 2011 following a long illness. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 24, at 2:30 p.m. in the chapel at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home in Goldsboro, with the Rev. Harold Woodlief officiating. Interment will follow at Wayne Memorial Park. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service.
She was a graduate of Southern Wayne High School and was a member of Love Memorial Baptist Church.
Surviving: parents, William and Gloria Blanton of Youngsville; a sister, Elizabeth Walters of Wake Forest; two nieces; and her grandmother, Cecile Blanton of Goldsboro.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather, William C. Blanton.
