ANGIER - Diane Barbara Zering Murphy, 70, died Monday, Aug. 22, 2011 at William M. Dunlap Center for Caring. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 24, at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Raleigh. Burial will be held in the New Bethel Baptist Church cemetery in Epsom.
She was the daughter of Barbara Bucko Uznanski of Spring Hill, Fla., and the late Adolf Zering of New Britain, Conn. After many years as a homemaker, she worked 25 years for the state Department of Revenue.
Surviving: husband, Samuel Clyde Murphy Jr.; daughters, Deborah Murphy of McGee’s Crossroads and Lisa Martin (Jeff) of Clayton; sons, Michael Murphy (Jan) of Columbia, Md., Philip Murphy of Youngsville and David Murphy (Donna) of Garner; brothers, Robert Zering of Hartfort, Conn., and Philip Zering of Litchfield, Conn.; and several grandchildren.
Flowers welcomed or donations may be made to Hospice of Wake County, 250 Hospice Circle, Raleigh, NC 27607.
Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the funeral service at the church.
