BERTHA J. CREECH
ZEBULON - Bertha Jeffreys Creech, 97, died Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2011. A graveside service was held Monday, Sept. 12, at Historic Oakwood Cemetery Mausoleum.

She was a native of Franklin County, the daughter of the late Johnnie and Gertie Horton Jeffreys.

She was preceded in death by husbands, LeRoy Strickland and James Powell Creech; son, David L. Strickland; one grandson and one granddaughter.

Surviving: children, Betty S. Woodard of Knightdale, Mary S. Moody (Lewis) of Raleigh and Roy T. Strickland of San Antonio, Tex.; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Flowers or memorials to Watkins Chapel Baptist Church, 5897 NC Highway 231, Middlesex, NC 27557, where she was a lifelong member.
