JULIE S. UPCHURCH
RALEIGH - Julie Sykes Upchurch, 75, died Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2011. A graveside service was held Friday, Sept. 23, at Peachtree Baptist Church cemetery, Spring Hope.

She was born in Franklin County to the late Reid and Annie Sykes. She was retired from Tyler House after 42 years of employment.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Pauline.

Surviving: husband, Dan; sons, Gary Upchurch (Frances) of Greensboro, Gregory Upchurch (Tania) of Wilmington; brothers, J. G. Sykes (Sue) of Rocky Mount, Alvin Sykes of Spring Hope, Charles Sykes (Betty) of Emporia, Va., and Everett Sykes (Sallie Ann) of Reidsville; sister, Alice Edwards of Goldsboro; six grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
