JOHNNIE C. WILDER
November 12, 1943 – October 3, 2011
SPRING HOPE – Johnnie Cole Wilder, 67, of Spring Hope, passed away Monday night at his home surrounded by his family.

Johnnie was a son of the late William Rufus and Eula Mae Greene Wilder. He was a retired superintendent with C.C. Mangum and an Army Veteran of the Vietnam War.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Strickland Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Cypress Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery.

Johnnie is survived by his wife of 37 years, Louise Wilder; daughters and sons-in-law, Treva and Carl Perry, Tina and Danny Piper, Shannon and Chris Hopkins; son and daughter-in-law, Corell and Lisa Pittman, all of Spring Hope; sisters and brothers-in-law, Ada Mae and Tommy Wood of Glen Allen, VA, Frances and J.W. Perry of Mechanicsville, VA; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bruce and Florence Wilder of Mechanicsville, VA, Phillip and Diane Wilder of Bowling Green, VA, Charlie and Berteen Wilder of Bunn; 11 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care of Nash, 2460 Curtis Ellis Dr., Rocky Mount, NC 27804.

The family will receive friends 7 – 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Strickland Funeral Home & Crematory, Louisburg.
