MATTIE W. LINDSEY
FRANKLINTON —Mattie White Lindsey, 95, died Sunday, Nov. 27, 2011 at Franklin Oaks Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 30, at Oak Grove Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

She was born in Franklin County to the late Sidney White and Cassie Chalk White. She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church.

Surviving: children, Louise Spencer (Warren) of Maryland, Ann Gupton (Thomas) of Franklinton, Danny Joe Lindsey (Betty) of Franklinton, Steve Lindsey (Patricia) of Franklinton, Kerry Lindsey of Franklinton,  and Barron Lindsey of Youngsville; siblings, Charlie White (Louise) of Knightdale, Booster White of Youngsville, Owen White and Sidney White, both of Raleigh, Emily Murphy (George) of Youngsville, and Eva Horton of Raleigh; 19 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Graham Lindsey; children, Elmarie Finch and Marjorie Ray; and sisters, Lucy Ray and Ruby Hall.

Memorial contributions may be made to the funeral expenses of Mrs. Lindsey, c/o Bright Funeral Home, P. O. Box 646, Wake Forest, NC 27588.
