JOYCE S. PERNELL
WARRENTON - Joyce Spencer Pernell, 75, died Monday, Dec. 26, 2011 at Maria Parham Health Center. The Rev. Rob Evans will conduct graveside services at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 29, at Fairview Cemetery.

She was a Franklin County native, born to the late James K. Spencer Sr. and Lois Poythress Spencer. She was a member of Macon Baptist Church, was a homemaker and was retired from Carolina Sportswear.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William “Billy” Pernell; brothers, James Spencer Jr., Carl Spencer and Ray Spencer; and sisters, Ann Hunt and Jean Faulkner.

Surviving: son, William “Pete” Pernell (Carol) of Oxford; sister, Faye Spencer; and brother, Taylor Spencer, both of Louisburg; and one grandson.

The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 28, at Blaylock Funeral Home in Warrenton.
