RICHARD GOLIGHTLY
FRANKLINTON — Richard Golightly, 90, of Franklinton, passed away on February 29, 2012 at Franklin Oaks, Louisburg.  He was born in Easley, SC to the late Charlie V. Golightly and Mary Edith Sentell Golightly. He retired from Burlington Industries after 42 years of service and later worked until the age of 89 with H&R Block. He was a veteran of the United States Army and was a lifelong member of Franklinton United Methodist Church.

Funeral services will be held at 2 o’clock, Monday afternoon, March 5, 2012 in the Chapel of Bright Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery.

Mr. Golightly is survived by his daughter, Sarah G. Green & husband Jeffrey of Raleigh; grandchildren, Ame G. Andrews & husband Paul of San Antonio, TX and Brian Green & wife Rebecca of Auburn, AL; great-grandchildren, Carson Andrews, Ella Grace and Cole Andrews, all of San Antonio, TX; brothers, Bob Golightly of Greenville, SC and Charlie Golightly of Easley, SC; sisters, Dorothy Ward of Easley, SC, Mary Ethel of Spartanburg, SC and Venita Grace Mauldin of LaGrange, GA; faithful companion and caregiver, Diane Murray of Franklinton; nieces, Harriet Mills and Margaret Currin, both of Raleigh; many friends and extended family. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nellie Hight Golightly.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Wake County, 250 Hospice Circle, Raleigh, NC 27607.

Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service at Bright Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 405 S. Main St., Wake Forest. (919-556-5811)
