LESLIE A. PEARCE
RALEIGH – Leslie A. Pearce, 92, died at home on Wednesday, May 16, 2012.

He is survived by  his wife of 65 years, Lee Mae Jones Pearce; his children, Debbie Pearce Godwin (Dan) of Blowing Rock, and Leslie T. Pearce (Lynn) of Raleigh. He is also survived by his only grandchild, Pearce Daniel Godwin (Chrissy) of Arlington, Virginia.

He was born in Franklin County on April 20, 1920 to Grover Cleveland Pearce and Dora Minga Pearce. He was predeceased by five siblings, James C. Pearce, Matthew Pearce, Juanita Pearce Strickland, Magdalene Pearce Foster and Nell Pearce Jones.

A memorial service was at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 18, at Hayes Barton Baptist Church, with Dr. David Hailey and Reverend Tom Bodkin officiating. A private burial took place at Raleigh Memorial Park following the memorial service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial gifts be made to the Hayes Barton Baptist Church Family Life Center Fund, 1800 Glenwood Avenue, Raleigh, NC 27608 or the charity of choice.
