JOHN LEWIS “J.L.” WOOD
SPRING HOPE - John L. “J.L” Wood, 89, died Sunday, Aug. 26, 2012 at Louisburg Nursing Center. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday,  Aug. 28, at Spring Hope Funeral Home, with the Rev. Corell Pittman and the Rev. David Bundy officiating. Interment followed at Peachtree Baptist Church cemetery.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie Thomas and Lilly Sledge Wood; sisters, Grace Boone, Virginia Fuller, Mary May, Annie Sledge, Martha Rackley; brothers, Lee, Randolph and Balus Wood; and one grandson.

Surviving: wife, Ruth Gardner Wood of Spring Hope; daughters, Linda Wood Stetson (Leland) of Alaska (Wasilla), Ellen Wood Marks (Jim) of Louisburg; sons, Phil Wood (Sue) and Danny Wood of Spring Hope and Randy Wood of Youngsville; sisters, Alice Overton of Zebulon and Sally Williams of Raleigh; 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Arrangements entrusted to Spring Hope Funeral Home, Spring Hope.
