CHARLIE H. DAVIS
WAKE FOREST - Charlie H. Davis, 83, of Wake Forest, died Friday, September 21, 2012 at Duke University Medical Center. He was born in Granville County, the son of the late Ernest and Evie Davis and was a member of Good Hope Baptist Church. Charlie knew no strangers and was a friend to any and all. He inspired, encouraged, and motivated many young people that were fortunate enough to be around him. He taught his hard work ethic by the life he led and was happiest when he shared the bounty that he grew in his beautiful gardens. Heaven now has a new chief gardener.

Funeral services were held at 2 o’clock Monday afternoon, September 24, 2012 at Good Hope Baptist Church with the Rev. David Buffaloe and the Rev. Dr. Fred Williams officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

He is survived by his sisters, Minnie Mae Thompson of Greensboro and Louisa Allen of Oxford; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rachel Davis; his daughter, Betty Grace Denton; and by 2 brothers and 5 sisters.

Memorial contributions may be made to Good Hope Baptist Church, 4038 Graham Sherron Road, Wake Forest, NC 27587 or to Universal Healthcare & Rehabilitation, 500 Prospect Ave., Oxford, NC 27565.

Pallbearers were Don Davis, Jason Davis, Tom Gulley, A.J. Privette, Larry Takacs, Robbie Delaney and Randy Privette.

A service of Bright Funeral Home & Cremation Center. (919-556-5811)
