WILMINGTON —Elizabeth (Lib) (Libby) Jacobs Tyson, 83, of Wilmington died Sunday, Nov. 4, 2012 at Northchase Nursing and Rehab Center in Wilmington.

Born in Lee County, Raeford,  she was the daughter of the late Floyd Whitehead Jacobs and Lena Joyner Drake. 

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Tom Jacobs of Coral Gables, Fla., Ralph Jacobs of California, and David Jacobs of Raleigh.

She was retired from New Hanover Regional Medical Center, with  26  years of service. She attended Castalia High School where she excelled academically as well as in basketball.  She also worked as a bookkeeper for Home Oil Company and Joyner Wholesale Building Supply in Louisburg.

Surviving: daughter, Connie Wilder Register (Bob) of Wilmington; sons, Ricky Tharrington (Vicky) of Watha and Dell Wilder of Castalia; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held at Grace Baptist Church, 1401 N. College Road, Wilmington, on Wednesday, Nov. 7, at 10 a.m., with the Rev. Jim Herchenhahn officiating.  Graveside service will be held at the Drake Family Cemetery in Castalia following the funeral service in Wilmington.
