“SPOON” CLAUDE R. VALENTINE
August 31, 1936 – November 22, 2012
LOUISBURG – Claude “Spoon” Ray Valentine, 76, of Louisburg, died Thursday morning.

Spoon was a son of the late Willie and Mable Rowe Valentine. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie T. Valentine; sisters, Ida V. Wood and Jessie V. Hunt; brothers, Dollie Valentine, J.W. “Buck” Valentine and Perry Valentine.

The family would like to thank Lucille Parker, Natasha Garner and Dreama Martin for all their care and support given to Spoon.

Funeral service will be held 3 p.m. Sunday at Grace Baptist Church with the Rev. Wes Bailey officiating. Burial will follow at Lancaster Memorial Park.

Spoon is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Terry and Gary Smith of Graham; son, Dexter Valentine of Pembroke, VA; sister and brother-in-law, Dovie and Elmo May of Louisburg; brother and sister-in-law, Carl and Patricia of Fredericksburg, VA.

The family will receive friends 4 – 5:30 pm Saturday at Strickland Funeral Home & Crematory, Louisburg, www.stricklandfuneralhome.net.
