MARVIN “ROSCOE” SANDY JR.
RALEIGH - Marvin Clifford Sandy Jr. “Roscoe”, 71, of Middlesex died Thursday, Nov. 29, 2012 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. A memorial service was held Sunday, Dec. 2, at Middlesex Baptist Church.

He was born in Raleigh to the late Marvin C. Sandy Sr. and Mary Francis Jeffries. He retired after 31 years of service at UNC-CH Chemistry Department.

He was preceded in death by sons Mark Evans and Kurt Weston.

Surviving: wife, Betty; daughters, Kimberly Brownfield of Garner and Leigh Anne Sandy Dillistin of Youngsville; sons, Marvin C. Sandy III of Louisburg and Michael Sandy of Mebane; sister, Julia Church of Charlotte and brother, Jonny Sandy Sr. of Clayton; and seven grandchildren.
