BETTY D. BURNETTE
October 25, 1929 – January 3, 2013
LOUISBURG – Betty Davenport Burnette, 83, of Louisburg, died Thursday evening. 

Betty was a daughter of the late James and Mary Brickhouse Davenport.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert H. Burnette, and 3 sisters and 6 brothers.  Betty was the owner of Burnette’s Retirement Village for over 40 years.

She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Gray B. Patterson, Becky B. and Elwood Leonard, Betsy B. and Jimmy Hunt, all of Louisburg; brother and sister-in-law, Stancil and Barbara Davenport of Nashville; 7 grandchildren, Mandy Patterson, Jonathan Patterson, Cory Leonard and wife Pam, Jennifer Wingo and husband Brad, Marti Garrett and husband John, Jamey Hunt and wife Ashley, and Lacey Hunt; 3 great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held 4 p.m. Sunday at Sandy Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Joel Story officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Sandy Creek Baptist Church, Building Fund, 4160 NC Hwy 561, Louisburg, NC 27549.

The family will receive friends from 6 – 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Strickland Funeral Home & Crematory, Louisburg, www.stricklandfuneralhome.net.
