JOY Y. BOYDSTON
May 27, 1951 – February 23, 2013
LOUISBURG – Joy Young Boydston, 61, of Louisburg, passed away Saturday after a short courageous battle with cancer.

Joy was a daughter of the late Bill and Evelyn Baker Young. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mark S. Boydston, and her sister, Sherri Murtagh.

A funeral service was held 11 am Tuesday in the chapel of Strickland Funeral Home. Burial followed in Bunn Memorial Gardens.

Joy is survived by her daughter, Amanda Boydston of Henderson; sons, John Boydston of Raleigh; Paul Boydston and his wife, Melissa of Spring Hope; sisters, Diane Batchelor of Louisburg; Rhonda Cox of Raleigh; aunt and uncle, Carolyn and Gene Mullen of Bunn; 8 grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 8300 Health Park, Suite 10, Raleigh, NC 27615.

The family received friends 7 – 8:30 p.m. Monday at Strickland Funeral Home & Crematory, Louisburg, www.stricklandfuneralhome.net.
