MARGARET V. GROFF
RALEIGH - Margaret “Maggie” Varner Groff, 87, died Saturday morning, April 15, 2006 at Universal Healthcare Center. Funeral services, officiated by the Rev. Johnnie Wright of Westover United Methodist Church, were conducted Tuesday, April 18, at Restlawn Memorial Gardens.

Born in Rockingham County, she was the daughter of the late Hiram and Minnie Varner. She retired as a secretary from North Carolina State University.

Surviving: sister, Elizabeth Ellington of Louisburg; and one niece.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Judson R. “Ryland” Groff.

Memorials may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children, Office of Development, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607-1460.
