EDWARD J. BLACKNALL
FRANKLINTON —Edward Junior Blacknall, 58, died Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at Brantwood Rehabilitation Center, Oxford. Funeral services were held Sunday, April 28, at Kinches Chapel Christian Church, Franklinton, with the Rev. Willie R. Nixon III officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

He was born in Granville County to William Sherney and Mary Dorothy Blacknall. He was educated in the Granville County Public School System and served in the U.S. Army. He was employed in the textile industry and several years as a farm laborer.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Louise Hunter.

Surviving, in addition to his parents: four children, Jermaine Blacknall (Charlotte) of Durham, Nicole Blacknall of Creedmoor, Ray Cooley (Cynthia) of Stem and Kendall Davis of Henderson; sisters, Diane Eberhart (Harold) of Brunswick, Ga. and Mary Blacknall of Butner; brothers, William Blacknall (Annie) of Creedmoor, Haywood and Angelo Blacknall, both of Creedmoor, Robert Blacknall (Tanyia) of Durham, and Marvin Blacknall (Annette) of Creedmoor; and six grandchildren.
