BERVIN H. FERGUSON
YOUNGSVILLE—The Rev. Bervin H. Ferguson, 78, died Thursday, July 4, 2013, at Wake Medical Center. Funeral services were held Monday at Harris Chapel Baptist Church, with Dr. William Haley and Dr. Merlin Boone officiating.  Burial followed in the church cemetery. 

He was born to the late Jack Henry and Florence Woodlief Ferguson.  He was also preceded in death by his son, Bervin Henry Ferguson, Jr., and his brother, John Ferguson.  A Franklin County native and a graduate of Campbell University,  Rev. Ferguson served in Union Valley, White’s Creek, Forest Lawn, Capeharts, Cedar Branch, Horeb and Whatley Baptist Churches over the last 50 years before retiring in September of 2003. 

Surviving: wife, Shirley Fuller Ferguson; son, Charles Fuller Ferguson of Youngsville; daughter, Wanda Perry (Merrill) of Edenton; sisters, Dorothy Cooke of Rolesville, Bonnie Wood of Louisburg, Mae Finch of Wake Forest, Jackie Allen of Clayton and Peggy Brantley of Middlesex; brothers, Samuel Ferguson of Louisburg and Charlie Ferguson of Durham; and three grandchildren.

Flowers accepted or contributions may be made to Harris Chapel Baptist Church Building Fund, 2960 Tarboro Road, Youngsville, NC  27596 or to a church of one’s choice.
