ARLENE M. HODGES
February 23, 1955 – October 12, 2013
Arlene Mashburn Hodges, 58, of Louisburg, died Saturday, October 12, 2013 at her home in Raleigh.

Arlene was a daughter of the late Arland and Ella Mashburn She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Hodges. She was a native of Louisburg, North Carolina.  After attending Louisburg High School, she received her BS in Nursing at East Carolina University in 1977.

Arlene enjoyed golfing, traveling, Pirate football games, and crosswords. Family and friends remember her as a kind, fun person with a lot of life and love to give.  She was a loved wife, mother, sister, and friend.

She is survived by her daughters, Emily Hodges and Allison Westmoreland and her husband Bucky Westmoreland, all of Raleigh; sisters and brothers-in-law, Margaret and Jimmy Hill of Manakin Sabot, VA; Debbie and Kevin Spain of Hillsborough, NC; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will have a private graveside service. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at 6 p.m. at Louisburg United Methodist Church.  Visitation will be held in the church fellowship hall immediately following the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions are made to The ALS Association (4 N Blount St., 2nd Floor, Raleigh, NC 27601), or Louisburg United Methodist Church (PO Box 667, Louisburg, NC 27549), or Louisburg College (501 N Main St., Louisburg, NC 27549) in her memory.
