Mrs. Hazel Ivirinia Boyd was born February 3, 1941 in Louisburg, NC, to the late Ellis Brodie and Mary Alice Kearney. She queitly went home to be with the Lord on November 7, 2013 at UniHealth Nursing Home.
Hazel was united in marriage to the late Marion Boyd on July 3, 1959 in Peterson, NJ. They were blessed to celebrate their 54th wedding anniversary together this year.
She leaves to cherish her loving memory, three children, Kelvin (JoAnna) Brodie, Marion “Berry” Boyd and Quarron Boyd, all of Durham; two sisters, Emma Spector of Baltimore, MD and Gwendolyn Boyd of Raleigh, NC; two sisters-in-law, Nettie Mae Kirkland of Newark, NJ and Daisy Seago of Augusta, GA.
Services will take place on Thursday, November 14, 2013 at St. Joseph A.M.E. Church, 2521 Fayetteville St,, Durham, NC 27707 at 12 noon. The family will meet with friends one hour prior to the service.
