LOUISBURG - James David Wheless, 75, died Friday evening, Feb. 16, 2007. Funeral services were conducted Monday, Feb. 19, in the chapel of Strickland Funeral Home, Louisburg, with the Rev. Kenny Lamm, his nephew, and the Rev. Michael Spain officiating. Burial followed in the family cemetery at the home of Mr. Wheless where he lived his entire life.

He was a native of Franklin County, the son of the late William and Mary Denton Wheless. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Helen Wheless, Nan Lamm and Charity Ness; brothers, Raeford Wheless and Bayard Wheless.

Surviving: his wife, Virginia Pearce Wheless; son, David (Karen) Wheless; daughter, Kim (Mike) Collins, all of Louisburg; sisters, Irene Ray of Louisburg and Betty Mackie of Oxford; and two grandsons.

Flowers accepted or memorials can be made to the New Vision Fund of Bunn Baptist Church, P. O. Box 144, Bunn, NC 27508.
