SHARPSBURG - Funeral services for Mrs. Carol J. Malone, 60, who died Thursday, Feb. 15, 2007, were conducted Tuesday, Feb. 20, at Mount Carmel Baptist Church, with the Rev. Leonard Johnson officiating. Burial followed in the Gardens of Gethsemane.

Surviving: one daughter, Cheryl Brewington of Raleigh; stepdaughter, Antoinette Davis of Whitakers; stepson, Herbert Davis Jr. of Whitakers; sisters, Annie Richardson of Louisburg, Dorothy Drake and Mildred Richardson, both of Rocky Mount, Bertha McClain of Pinetops, Shirley Evans of Raleigh, Dixie Lucas of Spring Hope, Annette Joyner and Hattie Jean Joyner, both of Red Oak, and Gloria Congleton of Roanoke Rapids; brothers, James Joyner and Johnnie Joyner Jr., both of Spring Hope, and Bobby Joyner of Valdosta, Ga.; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
