LOUISBURG - Funeral services for Essie P. Harris, 83, who died Wednesday, April 9, 2014, will be held Sunday, April 13, at 3 p.m. at Perry’s Missionary Baptist Church, with the Rev. Randolph Alston officiating. Burial will follow in the Alston family cemetery.

Surviving: husband, John L. Harris of the home; daughters, Tharia Howard and the Rev. Pearline Burt, both of Centerville, and Ellie Buchanan of Perth Amboy, N.J.; son, Waverly Burt of Nashville, Tenn.; sisters, Lola Bell Wright, Mary Skipper and Orelia Alston, all of Centerville; brother, Harvey Alston of Centerville; and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Open visitation will be held at Richardson Funeral Home in Louisburg on Saturday, April 12, from 4 to 7 p.m.
